The other day I popped into Toppler Bowl.  Of course, I’d been there before, but this time I was walking in to meet four of the Canadian National Champions!  Mikayla, Marcello, Ryan, and Oliver took their bowling skills to Regina this May and they all came back Champions.

Marcello had to work, so unfortunately, I didn’t get to meet him, but Mikayla, Ryan, and Oliver were there and excited to chat.

Mikayla and Marcello were always destined to be great bowlers.  They are part of the Sanderson family that own Toppler. Mikayla and Marcello have been bowling since they were 2 years old and they have always loved it.

Oliver and Ryan have been bowling since they were 6 & 5. One of Oliver’s school pals was bowling and invited them along.  They have been hooked ever since.  There were a few years when Ryan, like any typical kid, struggled with going, but thankfully he didn’t quit.

Like I was saying, back in May the kids headed east to Regina for the national champions.  Mikayla was feeling pretty confident about her medal chances, as she came in second place last year, so in her mind she only had one person to beat.  Oliver and Ryan also felt pretty good about their chances of winning gold.  They were sure they had more experience than a lot of the juniors, as a lot of them were first years, and they were pretty sure they would take the gold.

Their hard work and optimistic attitude proved to be just what the kids needed to take home the gold!  Mikayla and Marcello practice 3-4 times per week. Ryan and Oliver do 2-3 practices a week. Their commitment to bowling has proved to be very fruitful over the past several years.  Combined, the 4 kids have a total of 15 medals!  Way to represent Fairview, Calgary, and Alberta!

One of the nice things about being a part of the Toppler bowling world is the support you are given by coaches and teammates.  They support you mentally, physically, and financially, which helps when you have to travel to all of the Canadian hotspots like Gateneau, Toronto, and Regina.

The bowling kids do fundraisers throughout the year, and Toppler supplies them with the swag to wear to the competitions.

Bowling is not just for the kids either, Toppler has bowling leagues for every age, and skill level.

Are you a middle-aged woman that needs to get out of the house and responsibilities once or twice a week?!  Toppler has a league for you to join!  Looking for a fun activity to do in your new found retirement? Pop over to Toppler and they will sort you out!   Looking for a fun family activity that doesn’t cost 1 million dollars – bowling at Toppler is the thing to do!

There is also a pretty good chance you will run into one of our national champs!
