Project Mindfulness

June 1, 2019

Free Your Mind is an independent youth-led group that promotes mental health awareness and emotional well-being.

Free Your Mind was created to provide the public with a long-lasting understanding of mental health. We aim to provide our audience with mindfulness strategies that they can use in their daily lives. Our event is taking place at the Plaza Theatre on June 1st, from 12 PM to 4 PM. There will be a health professional presenting on mental health and wellness strategies. We are inviting representatives from different mental health organizations to provide information on local resources. A variety of recreational activities, such as yoga, are being held to help participants relax. Business sponsors, such as Village Ice Cream and David's Tea, are providing snacks and refreshments for our attendees.

Project Mindfulness also aims to raise funds for a critical mental health organization, Distress Centre Calgary. We are hosting a silent auction with the goal of raising $1000. All proceeds will go to the Distress Centre, a 24/7 crisis service. More information can be found on their website, https://www.distresscentre.com/.
