After a couple of years unfortunately on hiatus, the Fairview Community Association once again hosted our annual wine and cheese fundraiser on June 17. The event was held in the beautiful Divine Flooring showroom and brought together over 80 Fairview residents and invited guests.
A highlight of the evening was the selection of delicious wines available for tasting by Rocky Mountain Wine, Spirits and Beer. Guests were treated to a wide range of carefully curated wines, and of course, no wine and cheese event would be complete without a selection of delicious cheeses and mouthwatering food.
The event was emceed by long-time Fairviewer and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary & Area President & CEO Ken Lima-Coelho. We are truly grateful for his sense of humour and his time and effort ensuring everything ran smoothly.
The wine survivor raffle was once again the fundraiser’s most highly anticipated event, and it didn’t fail to deliver! After five rounds, the lucky first, second, and third place winners walked away with a bounty of 32, 14 and 8 bottles of wine respectively.
This year’s silent auction featured an array of items generously donated by local businesses and community members. There was a lot of enthusiasm and some serious competition displayed during the bidding, which helped us meet our fundraising goals.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the evening a great success. Their hard work and commitment ensured that every aspect of the event was flawlessly executed. Additionally, we would like to express our appreciation to Divine Flooring for their hospitality in hosting us in their showroom. Their support and collaboration were invaluable.
Finally, we extend our thanks to all the attendees, donors, and sponsors who generously contributed to our fundraiser. Thanks to your support, we were able to raise funds to further the FCA’s mission and make a positive impact in the community!
The 2023 Fairview Wine and Cheese Fundraiser was yet again a truly memorable event, filled with delicious food and wine, friendly competition, and a lot of laughs. We look forward to seeing everyone next year and the continued support of our awesome community!
