The 2022 Fairview Family Festival and Movie in the Park was another grand success! This year’s movie was Disney’s “Encanto”, and by the size of the crowd it was the perfect choice!
The weather was nearly perfect for the event – a bit chilly towards the end of the movie, but nothing to really complain about for September. This year, like many years in the past, was full of laughter, meeting up with old friends, making new friends (shoutouts to Not Elliot’s mum and Megan), and coming together as a community.
For the kids this year, there was a bouncy slide that had a never-ending line, a bouncy basketball toss, a hammer game, and Ryan Eisenbart making his debut at community events as magician! His tricks were amazing!
This year we opted to run our own concession with burgers, hotdogs, chips, candy, cotton candy and, of course, POPCORN! Some of the younger Fairview-ians operated the concession. A huge thank you to Audrey Sanford, Ashlyn Lima-Coelho, Adam Lima-Coelho, Emily Eisenbart, Oliver Eisenbart for making sure everyone’s tummy was full! This local concession was clearly a hit. After an emergency trip to the store (thanks Nicole!) for more burgers, by the time the movie started there were only a few bags of chips and a hardly any pop left! Thanks to everyone who supported our concession!
There were raffles for gift cards and for VIP seats. These brand-new Adirondack chair seats were placed in the best spots in the park to watch the movie from! Unfortunately, I was not one of the winners, but big congratulations to Jason McNeely, Billy Rae Busby, Tristan Dickinson and one other mystery person. Thanks to everyone that bought tickets and supported our event!
Events like The Family Festival & Film Night are a truly wonderful way to get out and support your Community Association. Whether you donate your time, money, or both, the whole neighbourhood benefits and the entire community is grateful!
See you at the next event!
