As proclaimed by Mayor Nenshi, March is Community Association Awareness Month!
Mayor Nenshi proclaims the entire month of March as Community Association Awareness Month! There are 152 community associations in Calgary providing communities with recreational programming, community gardens, after-school programming and other important initiatives. Our community associations also offer residents opportunities to be engaged with issues affecting their communities. Without the strong support of volunteers, these programs would not be possible. It is estimated that annually over 20,000 community association volunteers contribute 2.4 million hours of public service equivalent to $28 million and operate facilities and amenities valued over $350 million.
