Fairview Paints the Pavement

December 2022

At the end of October, some of your neighbours got together for a painting party!

Fairview Board member and organizer, Alicia Davis, received #ActivateYYC funding towards initiatives that transform space into place, promote movement, safety, and neighbourliness. It is a program of the Federation of Calgary Communities.

She used this grant towards a “Paint the Pavement” project, approved through the City of Calgary, that is a volunteer-led program that allows you and your neighbours to come together and create art on a public street.

The awesome design was created by Fairview kid, Oliver Eisenbart. The painting is located right around 115 Fairview Drive (by the alley entrance closest to the pump track).

The painting took place over a couple of cool October days with the help of many volunteers. Thanks to Alicia for making this happen and to everyone who participated and came out to help!

Make sure to check out this colourful addition to our community!
