On September 10, Fairview’s biggest event of the year “Movie in the Park” was held at Flavelle Park, featuring the modern classic film “RV” starring the late, great Robin Williams. A huge thanks to Chad Chapman for planning this always great event.
The Fairview Pump Track finally had its grand opening on September 19. We had a great show of support from local kids (and their parents), as well as from supporters who helped us get this project built. Councillor Gian-Carlo Carra and Community Association Board member Sam Koots helped local rider Ishmael to cut the ribbon (check out the picture on the front cover of our community newsletter) officially opening the pump track once and for all!
Finally, thanksgiving weekend was livened up a little more with the RISE UP concert series which took place at IAAC and the Stonegate pub on October 9. The event featured local artists “Melody Stang”, “Megan Dawson” and “Boots and the Hoots.” Thanks to Wayne McNeely for helping to organize, and the Friends of the Calgary Federation of Communities for putting on this free event!
