Bowling for the Burtons hits a strike!

On February 20, Fairview community residents got together to host a fundraising event for our neighbours, the Burtons. The Toppler bowling night was an incredible success, both by how much money was raised and by the great social atmosphere and buzz of the evening.

We are thrilled to announce that through the event and the support of the residents of Fairview were able to raise $3,615 for the Burtons that evening. Also along with cheques mailed in, an on-line fundraiser, and generous corporate donation from Crescent Point Energy the grand total raised for the Burtons was just shy of $6,000.

We are blown away with all the support the Burtons received throughout their tragedy. A huge thank you to all of our generous neighbours and Fairview (and beyond) businesses for contributing to this local cause.

We would especially like to thank the following for their generous donations to help make “Bowling for the Burtons” an amazingly successful night:

Corinne Brazeau, Bernard Giles, Gill Giesbrecht, Charlotte Clarke and Paul Van Elsberg, Janine Reid, Schluter Systems Canada, Ten Thousand Villages, Tail Blazers, Springbank Cheese, Stonegate Pub, the Cooperators – Tammy Truman, Aussie Rules, Starlite Restaurant, Larry Soron – RE/MAX Realty, Toppler Bowl, Conoco Philips, Calgary-Acadia MLA Office – Brandy Payne, The Laugh Shop, Crescent Point Energy & many other anonymous donators. And a big thanks to Mark Dutkoski for being our event photographer! And one more big thank you to the Fairview Community Association for their tremendous support to make this event so fun and successful!

We are so lucky to live in such a caring community!
